MADISON, NJ - The third-seeded College at Florham Devils defeated sixth-seeded St. John Fisher, 3-2 (20-25, 25-14, 20-25, 25-19, 15-10), in the Quarterfinals of the ECAC Metro/Upstate Region Tournament on Wednesday evening.
With the win, the Devils improved to 29-9 while the Cardinals dropped to 20-13. FDU will now go on to the Semifinals to play second-seeded NYU.
Sophomore middle hitter
Helena Riede paced the Devils with 11 kills while freshman right side
Andrea Peters added 10 kills. Junior setter
Nicole Weissert finished with 31 assists and 14 digs, senior libero
Marta Matera tallied 17 digs, freshman outside hitter
Momi Mariani recorded 20 digs, and senior defender
Jackie Kressaty and junior outside hitter
Chelsea Hoeffler notched 13 digs apiece.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, November 12, 2011, in the Semifinals of the ECAC Metro/Upstate Region Tournament against NYU beginning at 2 pm. Both the semifinal matches and the championship game will be held at Elmira College in Elmira, NY.
