DEVILS DROP SEASON OPENER TO RICHARD STOCKTON, 2-1

MADISON, NJ - The College at Florham Devils were knocked off in their 2009 season opener by Richard Stockton, 2-1, on Monday evening.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 0-1.
Stockton started the scoring with 21:00 left in the first half then made it 2-0 with 8:29 to go before intermission. The Devils got on the board with 19:47 remaining in the game when junior forward Brittany Kanickij (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) connected off a pass from junior forward Lora Fink (Hamilton Square, NJ/Pennington Prep). FDU had a few chances late in the game but could not convert to tie the game.
Sophomore goalkeeper Melanie Pierson (Brookside, NJ/Mendham) started for FDU, allowing two goals while making five saves. Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Albrecht (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) played the second half, not allowing a goal and also stopping five shots.
The Devils return to action Saturday, September 5, 2009, in the Centenary Tournament against Centenary beginning at 3 pm.
